To become an ultrasound technician, the candidate should complete an entry level education (high school course in math, science or anatomy) and apply for an associate degree in ultrasonography that usually lasts for about 2 years.     This must be dated material because I am a registered sonographer and my annual income last year was over 100k but 30k of that was on call. My base pay is over $40 an hour though and I live in Wisconsin, not New York or Massachusetts where this claims they pay the most so I can just imagine what they make!
