The salary for a Staff Specialist in NSW Hospitals starts at AU$122379, which is what a first-year, publicly-employed Pathologist would earn.

If Consultant Pathologists had an average salary of $73-93K, nobody would bother slogging through the training.

Senior Pathologists, who are partners in large private practices, can make upwards of $750K.

Not sure where you got your numbers, but they are waaaaaaaaaaaay off the mark.
